About Gaslamp Quarter

LocalCleanup hosts free monthly community cleanup events in Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego every 3rd Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. No experience needed and all supplies are provided.

The Gaslamp Quarter is San Diego's historic entertainment district, spanning 16 blocks of Victorian-era buildings filled with restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the district attracts millions of visitors annually for dining, nightlife, and events at nearby Petco Park. Heavy nightlife and tourism foot traffic generates significant litter, particularly on weekend mornings after busy Friday and Saturday evenings. The Gaslamp's dense concentration of restaurants and entertainment venues creates unique cleanup challenges compared to residential neighborhoods. Cleanup volunteers in the Gaslamp help preserve the district's historic charm and ensure that this signature San Diego destination remains welcoming for the community and visitors.

Key landmarks near cleanup areas: Fifth Avenue, Horton Plaza Park, Gaslamp Quarter Archway, Market Street, Island Avenue.
