About Pacific Beach
LocalCleanup hosts free monthly community cleanup events in Pacific Beach, San Diego every 3rd Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. No experience needed and all supplies are provided.
Pacific Beach is a lively coastal neighborhood stretching along the San Diego shoreline between Mission Bay and La Jolla. Known for its boardwalk, Crystal Pier, and active beach culture, Pacific Beach attracts both residents and visitors year-round. The high volume of beachgoers and tourists creates persistent litter challenges, especially along the boardwalk, Garnet Avenue, and beach access points. Pacific Beach's numerous storm drains run directly to the ocean, creating a short path for any street litter to enter the marine environment. Cleanup efforts in Pacific Beach directly protect the ocean by intercepting trash before it reaches the water, making each volunteer's contribution particularly impactful for marine ecosystems along the coast.
