About South Park
LocalCleanup hosts free monthly community cleanup events in South Park, San Diego every 3rd Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. No experience needed and all supplies are provided.
South Park is a quiet, walkable San Diego neighborhood with a growing collection of boutique shops, craft eateries, and specialty coffee roasters along its Fern and Grape Street corridors. The neighborhood features a mix of historic Craftsman homes and charming bungalows, along with popular green spaces like Grape Street Dog Park. South Park's strong sense of community identity is reflected in its annual Walkabout events and locally organized beautification projects. The neighborhood's proximity to several canyon systems means that litter from streets and parks can travel into natural drainage areas that ultimately connect to San Diego waterways. Regular cleanup volunteers help keep the residential streets and small commercial areas free from litter, preserving the cozy village atmosphere residents value.
